For Christmas I got Chase a remote control helicopter. We bought one for my nephew a few years ago but it wasn't very sturdy so it broke within minutes. We returned it and got him something else. He was heartbroken. :( As was Chase. :( Since then we've joked about getting another one for the inner kid in Chase, but never did because we were honestly too cheap to buy one for ourselves.

We have a similar story. Last year my husband got a remote control helicopter for his birthday but it also broke pretty quickly. A few months ago we spotted almost the exact same remote control helicopter at a local discount store, but my husband still decided not to get it and stick to our budget. So I went behind his back and got it for him. Silly men!
